[Recipe] Shrimp Dumpling (Siomai)

Last month, I was given a chance to go back to Indonesia for a while, precisely in Medan. When I was there, I had so many culinaries, such as dimsum. Going back here, the craving of dimsum come back again. Luckily, I brought back nice and cheap dumpling skins. I found a very easy recipe of Shrimp Dumpling. 
Here are the ingredients and methods.
Bulan lalu, saya sempat pulang sebentar ke Indonesia, tepatnya di Medan. Ketika itu, saya sempat melepas rindu dengan kuliner Medan, salah satunya dimsum. Nah, begitu kembali kesini, rasa rindu akan dimsum datang lagi. Apalagi saya bawa pulang oleh-oleh kulit pangsit yang harganya jauh lebih murah daripada disini. Akhirnya saya cari resep siomai, karena siomai termasuk salah satu dimsum. 
Nah, kali ini, saya akan berbagi resep siomai. Siomai Udang namanya.

Shrimp Dumpling / Siomai Udang
Shrimp Dumpling / Siomai Udang

Ingredients | Bahan-bahan
2 carrots, diced | 2 buah wortel, potong dadu kecil
1 carrot, grated | 1 buah wortel, parut
250 g fresh shrimps | 250 gram udang bersih
5 tbsp sago flour | 5 sdm tepung sagu
2 egg yolks | 2 kuning telur
1 egg white | 1 putih telur
2 spring onions | 2 batang daun bawang
5 cloves of garlic | 5 siung bawang putih
1 tbsp sesame oil | 1 sdm minyak wijen
1 tbsp oyster sauce | 1 sdm saus tiram
1 tbsp sugar | 1 sdm gula pasir
1 tsp salt | 1 sdt garam

Blend 125 of fresh shrimps with 5 cloves of garlic. 
Haluskan 125 gram udang dan 5 siung bawang putih. 
Thinly sliced the stalk of spring onion.
Ambil 2 batang daun bawang (ambil batangnya saja), iris tipis.
Mince the rest of shrimps. Mix well the blended shrimps, sago flour, spring onion and diced carrots.
Cincang 125 gram udang. Aduk rata udang, kuning telur, tepung sagu, daun bawang dan wortel yang sudah dipotong dadu.
Add 1 tsp of salt, 1 tbsp oyster sauce and 1 tbsp of sesame oil.
Tambahkan 1 sdt garam, 1 sdm saus tiram dan 1 sdm minyak wijen.
Prepare the dumpling skin, rub with egg white. Fill the dumpling skin with 1 tbsp of shrimp mixture. Put the grated carrots as garnish.
Siapkan kulit pangsit, oleskan dengan putih telur. Isi adonan kulit dengan 1 sdm adonan udang. Beri parutan wortel di atas siomai.
Spread the plate with oil to prevent stickiness. Steam the siomai until the dumpling skins look transparent.
Olesin minyak di piring kukus agar tidak lengket. Kukus siomai sampai kulit pangsit transparan.
