Founder Bak Kut Teh |
That was not my first time coming here actually. But my husband was craving for eating this, so that day, we planned to go back there. We took a bus to go there (or you may take MRT to Ferrer Park), and we needed to walk for a few minutes to reach the restaurant. Fyi, the place is located at the corner and you may see a lot of photos of celebrities on the glass wall.

We sat at the outside that day because it's fully seated in the inside of the restaurant. Fortunately, the weather was really friendly that day but it still had a bit haze. The server was friendly to us. We ordered
Bak Kut Teh ($7),
You Tiao ($1.50),
Salted Vegetables (medium size $5) and
Braised Peanut (small size $4).

After a while, the server came back with two small plates of chili and a bottle of soya sauce. To me, the chili doesn't have a taste at all. I just love the soya sauce. We did not wait for a long time for the meal because the server came back with our orders shortly after serving us the first meal. The fragrance from the meal was tempting. I ever posted about Singapore's bak kut teh which is so peppery. So, better you order something refreshing for your drink. I ordered a glass of water and I needed to order a glass of cold barley.

The taste of bak kut teh was delicious but a bit salty that day. The pork was tender and delish, but that day the salted vegetables was the champion. We both love the taste and couldn't stop giving opinion about it when we took more bite. The you tiao was perfect too. Not too oily yet a bit crunchy. We dipped the you tiao into the soup and the salted vegetables. The peanut was yummy too. Not too mushy and the aroma was so good.
Like other bak kut teh restaurants, we were asked to be given more soup or not. If you wanted to eat more, you may ask for more. Founder Bak Kut Teh is known as one of the best Bak Kut Teh restaurant in Singapore, so if you want to try, this place should be on your list.
