Korean food is quite famous in Singapore and there are so many Korean restaurants to be tried. Me and my husband had tried three Korean restaurants and so far we liked it. One of them is Yoogane. Yoogane is a popular restaurant from Korea which serve dakgalbi (Dakgalbi is a popular Korean dish generally made by stir-frying marinated diced chicken in a chili pepper paste based sauce, and sliced cabbage, sweet potato, scallions, onions, perilla leaves, and rice cake together on a hot plate - Wikipedia). It was our second time to come here because my husband craved the food so much. I can't resist because I love Korean food.

[Recipe] Easy and Healthy Homemade Ice Cream

Living in a tropical country sometimes makes you wonder something refreshing or cool. So this time I'm gonna share a recipe which I got from Instagram and I tried to make it. I successfully made it and I loved it. It's very easy and I'm sure you can't wait to show off to your family or friends to make them try your healthy and easy frozen treat. 

Ingredients :

3 bananas, sliced like coins

2 tbsp of strawberry jam

I know this place from a friend of mine. That time she asked me to join her to have a cup of coffee or just hung out but by that time my sister was here and we got somewhere to go, so I didn't have a chance to go.

My husband who loves coffee so much wanted to go there, so on weekend, we paid a visit. After queueing for two cupcakes from Fluff Bakery (check my cupcake story here Delicious Cupcakes from Fluff Bakery, we took a bus nearby Jalan Pisang to Toby's Estate by bus no 51. It stopped in front of Miramar Hotel and we had to walk a bit to the cafe.

After having our lunch at Hajah Maimunah (check the review here Enjoying Malay Food at Hajah Maimunah), we crossed the road to buy some cupcakes. It's called Fluff Bakery.

I know this place when I first time had our lunch at Hajah Maimunah, I was curious when I saw the long queue and saw the name of the bakery, so I searched it on Instagram. It showed tempting and nice looking cakes.

We both miss Indonesian or Nasi Padang and Hajah Maimunah is the first thought. That was our second time coming here. Previously, when we planned to eat here, the place was renovated and last time when I went to Fluff Bakery and passed the restaurant, the renovation had finished. My husband was so excited when I told him the news.

What We Did on Singapore General Election Day (Trip to Johor Bahru, again!)

It was on Friday (11 September 2015); what a long weekend! I felt so blessed because I could spend my weekend with my husband. So we planned to go back to Johor Bahru (In fact, we just came back from Johor Bahru last week, check the story at Saturdate Weekend at Johor Bahru ) and we thought the queue would not be so crowded. We woke up at 7 am and felt so excited. As usual, we took MRT from Tiong Bahru to Woodlands, and at Woodlands, we took bus no 950 (Berth 13)

We arrived at Woodlands at 9 am and we were so shocked to see the queue. It was a long queue and I understand how Singaporeans love queuing. I, as Indonesian, sometimes don't like to queue and better think something else to figure out. We stood at Berth 11, together with other people who wanted to go to Johor Bahru. Then there was two guys coming at us and asked about how they could go to Johor Bahru. They also stood along with us. They were brothers and wanted to go to Johor Bahru after the election. Both of them tried to guess (me and my husband) whether we're Singaporean or Malaysian. Hahaha.. When we said we're Indonesian, they were like "Oooohh...."

Before I move here, I used to live in Aceh and Medan. Well, today I'm gonna share some food in Medan. Medan is known as culinary city and I admit it that's super true. I will tell you some of good food I've ever tried and I'm craving for some while I am writing this blog.

Been being a fan since senior high school. The seller sold this noodle in Banda Aceh for years and moved to Medan after the tsunami disaster. It is sold every morning as breakfast. The noodle is homemade and it is served with minced pork, parsley and fried onion. You can also request for dumplings. It only costs Rp 9,000.

Foodie Sunday

We started our Sunday with watching old movie, The Holiday. One of the reasons why we watched this movie was because the location which was in England. And unbelieveably, we didn't realise that it was almost 12pm. So, we decided to quicken our activity in order to go out. 

Sentosa Casino was the first plan but we changed our mind because of the heat outside. Singapore is really hot these several days. I have to bring my cardigan and umbrella always to prevent the sunburn. Then, we finally decided to hang out at the VivoCity mall.

We walked to the Costa Coffee. It was our first time being there. The cafe was okay but it was too crowded and I didn't enjoy it. I ordered Signature Chocolate, husband ordered Coffee Latte (he's a coffee lover). Surprisingly, I was so disappointed with the taste. I didn't get the feeling of tasty and yummy. So husband said that he better ordered a cup of espresso. The taste of the espresso was quite okay but it was not that good even the coffee was fresh. To me, every coffee tastes so same.

After having the coffee time, we took our time to enjoy the harbour view. Oh! I bought myself Laneige Water Sleeping Mask. Maybe next time I will share how the impact is. 

And then, dinner time! We had Monster Curry as the choice. We had been being always curious everytime we passed the restaurant, so we were excited to have one (because on the display, they show the jumbo plate of Japanese Curry!)

Saturdate Weekend at Johor Bahru (05 Sep 2015)

So, we spent our Saturday weekend in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Actually we never planned to go there but since the news that said SGD1 costs RM3(6/9/15), we decided to pay a visit. We were very excited; imagining mostly about some things to buy, food to eat. Everything is suddenly becoming so cheap, isn't it? 

We woke up really early and prepared everything. We took a train to Woodlands. And as usual, from Woodlands, next we took a bus number 950 to CIQ. Guess what? The queue welcomed us at the bus interchanged. So crowded! And it had not finished yet. When we arrived at Singapore Immigration, I thought the crowds were the most disorganized crowds we had ever experienced. Even in the Malaysian Immigration, we had to wait for an hour to collect the stamp. I think it was because of the suddenly-so-cheap currency.

Having arrived in Johor Bahru, we took a bus to KSL (we took S1 from JB Central). As usual, after arriving at KSL, we had a cup of Asam Laksa (my husband never liked Laksa before, but this one changed his mind) and enjoyed the free mooncake that they served for upcoming Moon cake festival. 

We did try the coconut jelly which is very fresh and good though.

We also bought some groceries. Thank God the list was not that long. After that, we went back to CIQ to go to Komtar. It's the new mall beside the City Square Mall. There were some famous brands inside and we saw the famous ice cream of Häagen-Dazs and we didn't take a second thought to eat the desserts (because the price in Singapore is not quite affordable). 

What is Anglophile?

For those of you who don't know what an Anglophile is....

I know this seems really strange but I really have no idea why I do love anything related to the Great Britain so much. 

Some of the reasons are how classic the country is, the rainy and the gloomy view (and of course the view is wonderful), the accent, the history and also the people whom I admire (some of them are British)

I still have a dream to pay a visit there ( I'm still saving for this biggest dream of my life.

I know it will take a longer time but better late than never. :)
