Saturdate Weekend at Johor Bahru (05 Sep 2015)

So, we spent our Saturday weekend in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Actually we never planned to go there but since the news that said SGD1 costs RM3(6/9/15), we decided to pay a visit. We were very excited; imagining mostly about some things to buy, food to eat. Everything is suddenly becoming so cheap, isn't it?

We woke up really early and prepared everything. We took a train to Woodlands. And as usual, from Woodlands, next we took a bus number 950 to CIQ. Guess what? The queue welcomed us at the bus interchanged. So crowded! And it had not finished yet. When we arrived at Singapore Immigration, I thought the crowds were the most disorganized crowds we had ever experienced. Even in the Malaysian Immigration, we had to wait for an hour to collect the stamp. I think it was because of the suddenly-so-cheap currency.

Having arrived in Johor Bahru, we took a bus to KSL (we took S1 from JB Central). As usual, after arriving at KSL, we had a cup of Asam Laksa (my husband never liked Laksa before, but this one changed his mind) and enjoyed the free mooncake that they served for upcoming Moon cake festival.
We did try the coconut jelly which is very fresh and good though.

We also bought some groceries. Thank God the list was not that long. After that, we went back to CIQ to go to Komtar. It's the new mall beside the City Square Mall. There were some famous brands inside and we saw the famous ice cream of Häagen-Dazs and we didn't take a second thought to eat the desserts (because the price in Singapore is not quite affordable).

We ordered "Paradise" and they're all delicious! It costs only RM35. I think this one is recommended, because you can try some of the famous flavours they have.

There are many flavours in tbe menu such as Dark Chocolate Orange, Belgian Chocolate, Tiramisu and Macadamia Nut ice cream, Raspberry Sorbet and Mango Sorbet with chocolate and strawberry sauce.

After having desserts, we went to the City Square and took another meal (I know it's crazy, but we cannot resist food). So we decided to eat at Kenny Rogers Roasted Chicken. This time when we had our meal here, the service was not quite good. I didn't mind, because I could see that they have no enough employees. As long as my roasted chicken tasted okay, I am okay.
After the roasted chicken adventure, we continued our food adventure to Dragon-i. We ordered Xiao Long Bao, fried La Mian and Hot and Spicy Chinese Pepper Chicken Cubes . We also ordered the Oolong and Green Tea to burn the cholestrol.

I think Dragon-i's Xiao Long Bao tastes much much better than the others of what we had ever tried. The soup is so delicious and tasty. And the fried La Mian, we're impressed with the flavour, super yummy. The hot chicken was very delicious too. It was not too salty yet spicy. And the price was also affordable, we spent RM82.

After all the food adventure, we finally went back home to Singapore. Thank God the queue was not as crazy as the time we arrived. No matter how exhausted we were, we love going to Johor Bahru. I guess we will have more food adventure ahead!
