Yoogane Spring Onion Marinated Chicken Galbi |
Korean food is quite famous in Singapore
and there are so many Korean restaurants to be tried. Me and my husband had
tried three Korean restaurants and so far we liked it. One of them is Yoogane. Yoogane is a popular restaurant from Korea which
serve dakgalbi (Dakgalbi is
a popular Korean dish generally made by stir-frying marinated diced chicken in
a chili pepper paste based sauce, and sliced cabbage, sweet potato, scallions,
onions, perilla leaves, and rice cake together on a hot plate - Wikipedia). It
was our second time to come here because my husband craved the food so much. I
can't resist because I love Korean food.
Yoogane @ Bugis Junction |
We went to the outlet at Bugis Junction
and arrived there half an hour earlier than the opening hour which is 12pm.
Craving made you impatiently to come. But the waiter asked us to enter the
restaurant and we were allowed to order our menu. We sat nearby the window
sides which activities at the below of the mall could be seen. The environment
at the restaurant was quite peaceful (maybe because we came there very early).
The servers were friendly so I personally loved and enjoyed that time very
much.

My husband ordered two packs of Spring Onion Marinated
Chicken Galbi and combination fixings which has ramyeon noodle, sticky noodles,
sweet potato rice cakes, Korean traditional Garae rice cake and cheese rice
cake. We didn't order drinks because in Yoogane, you will be given free cold
water in each table. And it's free flow.
Cooking Yoogane Chicken Galbi |
Before we started to eat, there is a salad bar (Yes, it's free) which
served some free flow appetizer, like kimchi, peppers and etc. I love the
kimchi, not too spicy yet sour. And something I don't know what that is. The
taste is soury and fresh.

It didn't take a long time until the server took out
the dishes. It was served in a big pan with some marinated chicken and some
rice cakes. The server helped us to cook it. We just watched and took some
pictures and video.
The taste of this dish was really good. For me who
loves spicy food, the taste of the spicyness is balanced. So it's not
irritating. I didn't know whether both of us were so hungry or the food was
delicious, we finished the food in like 25 minutes.
To be honest, eating Korean food is quite complicated
because of the method and preparation during cooking. Eating in Yoogane is the
exception. There is a server who will help you to cook and we just eat the
dish. Overall, this place is recommended for meeting up with friends or just experience
another type of Korean food.
