Have you ever heard or read the word of BALI?? Bali is sometimes mistakenly known as a country itself. This is wrong. Bali is one of the provinces in the country of Indonesia. Bali is famously known as a piece of paradise on earth, and I do agree with the statement. And I feel blessed for having another opportunity of coming back there last December.
First time, in 2007, I went to Bali with the helps of travel agent. We only travelled to tourists' spots which are famous and full of crowds. I enjoyed it but there was no enough satisfaction.
This place is located in Nusa Dua and it's a small warung. Nevertheless, don't judge a book from its cover because the place is fully crowded. Luckily we got our seats that day so there was no need to wait like other people. You will be served a plate of rice, a small portion of vegetables and shredded coconut which have been cooked, some pork meat (cooked and fried), pork satay and a bowl of pork soup. The taste is really nice because of the variant herbs.
Location : Jl. Srikandi No.9, Nusa Dua, Kabupaten Badung, Bali, Indonesia
This meal is about chicken, so for some of you who eat Halal food, this place is totally recommended. You will be asked whether you want your meal to be served spicy or not. It doesn't take a long time to wait, you will be served a plate of rice with lots of condiments, like satay lilit (fish satay), fried peanuts, some vegetables, a price of fried chicken and ikan pepes (steamed herb fish) at once. The taste is incredibly delicious. Unable to move on, I even went here twice. I know right!
Location : Jl. Siligita (Depan Santika Hotel), Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia
This place is really unique because the location is underneath the big trees at the corner of the street in Legian. But don't get it wrong, this place is suprisingly very popular. It can be seen from how really crowded the warung takes place. I started by ordering the sate with lontong (and pork satay is finally now complete). If you don't like lontong, you can order a plate of rice. I guarantee you will love the taste because I do!
Location : Jl. Patih Jelantik No. 57, Kuta, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361, Indonesia
Most tourists will come here to eat this famous meal. Located at the side of Sunset Road, you will notice that there are many parked cars and lots of people queuing for this meal. Eating here, you will be served a plate of rice, a bowl of pork soup and a plate of condiments such as kinds of pork meat (cooked or fried), vegetables, pork satay and pork chips. I have been here twice (I find it hard to move on!!) The taste is not dissapointing!
Location : Jl. Sunset Road No. 554, Seminyak, Kuta, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361, Indonesia
This is one of the famous meal in Bali. I believe it is now the trademark of Bali. If you haven't tried this, you're sure you've been to Bali? Located in Ubud, the restaurant is surrounded with rice fields and nature view. No matter how bad the weather is, you will see the crowds. The famous meal in the restaurant is Crispy Duck with three types of chili. They look simple but don't bet with the taste. Yummy to the bone.
Location : Jl. Raya Goa Gajah, Br Teges, Peliatan, Ubud 80571 Bali - Indonesia
You won't see the menu on the paper, but you just choose your condiments for your rice inside the serving glass. Choose that and that and that (as if you're using your touch-screen phone). Don't forget to add the super spicy chili (add a little if you can't stand the spicyness). Then voila! You will be given a piece of paper which shows your meal's price. The taste? Damn delicious!!
Location : Jl.Raya Kuta, Gg.Kubu, No.120C, Benoa, Badung, Kuta Sel., Bali, Indonesia
Previously called Naughty's Nuri, this place is heaven for pork lovers and a nice spot to meet up or gathering with friends. The famous meal in the restaurant is the BBQ finger licking good pork ribs.
Location : Jl. Batu Belig No.41, Bali 80361, Indonesia
Actually there are more delicious food in Bali to try but our time is limited. So, these are some information of the meal I had when I was in Bali. I will definitely come back to Bali to explore more. I hope you enjoy reading this because I find it hard to move on from the Indonesian food even though I am back in Singapore. Thank you for reading this. See you next time.
